I'm Amy and I blog at Amos El. I have a boy and a girl myself and pretty quickly decided I wanted to do something sibling related. Not just coordinating outfits, but something they could contribute to. Easier said than done when you consider the skill-set of an almost four year old versus the skill-set (or lack thereof) of an almost two year old. I also wanted to take a page from Tasha's book and use COLOR...not to be confused with color...something that does not always come naturally to me but that I'm working on.
This is what we came up with:
The inspiration came from this post I filed away in my brain ages ago. I had always pictured using the technique in a more home decor related way (sheet set? pillow case? even curtains?) but I saw no reason we couldn't use it on clothing!
Honestly, this is probably the only time they'll wear these shirts at the same time, but I love that it was a project that we all worked on for each other. He painted for her; she painted for him; I sewed for both; and they modeled for me...kind of...ha!
One day I'll learn the secret of a successful shoot and then what will I talk about? She wasn't happy. So while she protested...
He patiently waited...and did a little dancing...
Finally, after pulling out her favorite necklaces, the ancient and no longer working iPod mini (remember those?), and the marshmallows...at 9am...I got some "cooperation".
